Stop Look Love Yourself
Stop Look Love Yourself is a mental health non-profit organization, that began as a support and awareness social media movement. It was founded by myself, Tori Foht, February 26th, 2017. It started out as a Tumblr blog, which was moved to Instagram and quickly expanded within the mental health community. Since then, SLLY has branched out, providing now a Facebook, Blogger, and Twitter, as a platform to reach the community.
The ultimate goal is to provide those who struggle with mental illness, a safe and secure online outlet, where they can go, seek advice, helpful tips, and be reminded that they do not struggle alone and recovery is possible.
SLLY promotes recovery, and the understanding that everyone's recovery journey is different and unique to them, as an individual. I encourage those who suffer from mental illness, to seek proper treatment, and partake in regular self care to keep them on track. Understanding your limits, abilities, and triggers can help you on your path to recovery. My job here is to provide you with the proper encouragement, inspiration, and advice from fellow Warriors, that will give your the strength and courage to keep fighting.
I also want to provide families, friends, and the public with a new knowledge of what mental illness looks like, and how it should be properly handled. I want to offer statistics and facts that can help you better understand the process your loved one will need to journey through. Support, and love is the best thing that can be offered to someone dealing with mental illness.
Although I provide advice, tips, tricks, mental health hacks, and other forms of information, I can only speak from personal experiences, and do not have any professional education within mental health, psychology, or related area's. The thing's I discuss, and offer here, come from a place of understanding and experience in figuring out what works personally for myself. I share these insights in hopes they will also benefit you.
I do not claim to be a professional. I cannot, and will not ever attempt to diagnose anyone. I always encourage the seeking of professional advice, and professional diagnosis, when dealing with mental health related issues.
You are not alone, and there are people willing to help, love and support you.
If you like what I do here, please consider donating to the cause. This helps keep the website up and running, allows it to expand, and helps bring to life the ideas, and hopes for the future of SLLY. Thank you for reading about what we do, and our heart for mental health warriors.
